The South Carolina Bankruptcy Law Association (SCBLA) is a not-for-profit South Carolina corporation whose primary purpose is to promote bankruptcy legal education for attorneys practicing before the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of South Carolina. The association sponsors ten monthly one-hour continuing legal education seminars based in Columbia and available by conference call for members. The association also sponsors a yearly eight-hour education seminar and a social gathering held in December. The monthly seminars and the social gathering are free of charge to all members. The Supreme Court of South Carolina Commission on CLE has approved the association as a continuing legal education provider for bankruptcy attorneys. The association serves as a liaison between the bankruptcy bar and the Bankruptcy Court and the Office of the United States Trustee.
